Slave was formed to support Eric's solo CD, the band members were, Paul Letherer (drums), Paul Saylor (guitar), Steve Austin (bass) and Eric VanLandingham (guitar and vocals). The name of the band came from the letters of the members last names and was made up on the spot 10 minutes before our first major show. The band did many of the songs off the solo CD along with a few choice cover songs like, Cemetary Gates from Pantera, Take Hold of the Flame from Queensryche, Bloodstone from Judas Priest and a heavy version of House of the rising sun which is available for download on this site. The band only played a couple times a year at larger shows to support the CD and did not play regularly at clubs because of the original purpose it was put together. Bassist Dave Hall joined Slave for it's last show in August of 2000. The band was a hit with radio personality "Tony LaBrie" who is now with Banana 101.5 in Flint. Tony gladly promoted the bands shows with enthusiasm. Check out some downloads from Slave using the downloads button at the top of the page. | |||||||||||
