BassPlaying bass seems to be most people's favorite thing for Eric to do. Not many bassist's have the ability, quality and sound that is produced here. From picking the bass with Entice for hard, fast metal songs, to the more recent funk/blues style. Below, a photo is shown from 1994 when Eric and Bill Adams played with Dimebag Darrell Abbot of Pantera and Damageplan. Darrell was to perform a guitar seminar at a music store in Detroit, Eric and BA were chosen as his "band" for the night. Eric played bass while BA played drums. Niether one of them knew a single Pantera song! So the three played a lot of Metallica, Kiss, Judas Priest and others. The "seminar" turned into a big party as you can see by Darrell's beer and Eric playing the bass with a beer bottle. Random "vocalists" were called from the 250 person audience to sing some of the songs they played. Eric and BA were invited by Darrell to come to Pine Knob the next week and come back stage when Pantera was there with Megadeth, but unfortunately, Damage Inc had tour dates booked at the time. Darrell was a gentle and nice man who certainly did not deserve the death he was handed. His playing will go into the history books right up there with Eddie VanHalen and Randy Rhodes. |
